In front of the picture:
I understand seeing as an act of desire and process-focused attention in “being on the move”. For me, things have the power to respond, they potentially appear as the gaze of the other – as if it becomes visible that what is seen is preceded by something given to be seen – “un donnez à voir”. The inside and outside appear simultaneously, the inside in the outside, and I try to capture these moments. Pictures have the characteristics of a mirror. They simultaneously show themselves and provoke the viewer’s imagination. In the photographic image, I try to preserve what appears and is visible, while at the same time emphasizing what is symbolic. The image thus becomes something independent, its statement directs the perception of new traces and perspectives.
